Upcycled Quilt Covers: I’ve been researching and enjoying several different stitching/mending approaches and wanted to translate some of that to leather. I’m working with the idea of taking what could be weak or vulnerable or thrown away (“scraps”) and making it something strong and beautiful. It’s how some cultures have made clothing and quilts last generations. They added intentionality and reinforcements where needed rather than simply tossing something out.

This journal was created from reclaimed leather and is the perfect size for carrying around to write, sketch, or jot ideas in. It was hand-bound using traditional binding methods and will lay flat when in use. It contains recycled, acid-free white pages that are blank and ready for writings, sketches, or photographs. The paper is 80 lb and can take a pretty inky pen, dry brush watercolors, pastels, etc. It closes with a magnetic snap beneath the quilt on the front.
